Mpeg Advance Xtra is the successor to DirectMediaXtra and MpegXtra. It combines the best features of our previous MPEG playback Xtras into a cross-platform solution, while adding a number of new features and full compatibility with Director 8.5, Director MX, Director MX 2004, Director 11, Windows XP, Vista, MacOSX and Classic. The Xtra uses the standard video playback solution already installed on your machine to provide MPEG playback without additional installation of system components. Our software transparently uses Microsoft´s DirectShow engine on Windows and Apple's Quicktime libraries on the Macintosh to display high-quality, high-performance video minimizing configuration and installation issues, and driver incompatibilities.

Creation and editing of cue points is also supported, limited only by available RAM or performance. The Xtra is also tightly integrated into the authoring environment, including batch import capabilities, automatic management of relative searchpaths, WYSIWYG preview and dynamic resizing and placement of media files. Among its features are control of an automatic toolbar, volume, balance, speed, support for non-DTS playback and imaging Lingo.
