Upgrading a Project from Arca 2.x to 3.0

Arca 3.0 uses the same database file format and default database encoding (UTF8) used by Arca 2.x. There are no Lingo or database changes needed to upgrade a project already authored with Arca 2 to the new version or Director 11: the Xtra will detect that it is running in Director 11 and will set the client encoding to UTF8 automatically. If your databases were created with Latin encoding or if you are upgrading to Arca 1.x then the instructions to upgrade to 2.0 still apply.

A new serial number is needed to use this version. For more information about the general upgrade procedure to Director 11 please consult this technote.
